FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I register for a swim session?
There are directions on the registration process on the SRRA website. Please note when registering there is a section for Guests. This is not the traditional guest (family/friend who is NOT a member), but rather the number of additional individuals, not including yourself who will be in attendance. Therefore this number should equal the the attending members first names minus 1 or zero if you are coming alone.
What safety precautions is Sideburn Run taking to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus and other diseases?
The health and safety of our members is our top priority. As always, we are following all state and county health guidelines for outdoor pool facilities, including the Phase 3 guidance issued in direct response to the current pandemic.
For our staff this includes increased and more frequent sanitation and disinfection procedures; health screenings; social distancing; face coverings (when not in the chair); and schedules designed to minimize interaction across the full lifeguard staff (e.g., a team approach to scheduling).
For our members this includes the reservation system with designated times for seniors and others who are at higher risk for COVID-19; social distancing; increased signage; screening questions; separate entrances and exits; reduced deck furniture; increased hand sanitation stations; and recommended face coverings.
What questions will I be asked when I register and check-in? What if I don’t want to answer?
Phase 3 guidelines require that we screen all members before they enter the pool facility. The screening questions include:
1. Do you currently have any of the following symptoms not attributable to another health condition?
2. Have you had any known exposure to someone diagnosed with or suspected of having COVID-19 without being in full PPE in the last 14 days?
You also will be asked to confirm that you agree to adhere to the social distancing rules.
If you answer yes to any of the health screening questions or refuse to adhere to social distancing, you will be asked to return at a different time when your responses have changed.
Are there other rules that are different this year?
Yes. The SRRA Board of Directors reviews and updates the pool operating rules every year. The rules for 2020 can be found on the website under Docs. In addition to rules about screening question and social distancing, other notable changes include:

Do I need to maintain social distance from other non-household members even if they are a child under 16 and I am the one responsible for them while they are at at the pool?
Yes. As written in the state guidelines for Phase 3 businesses, the pool must "strictly adhere to to the physical distancing guidelines." All members must maintain a physical distance of 10 feet from anybody who is not a member of their household. This applies even if they are the designated adult for a non-family member while at the pool. If non-household members travel to the pool in the same car, social distancing is expected at all times outside the vehicle.
How do I reserve time at the pool? How often can I sign up? What if I don’t get a spot?
Members can make their reservations by going to the events tab on SideburnRun.com. To begin, members are allowed to make up to three reservations in a week. We ask that members be considerate of others and try to vary the times they choose so there are options available for others. Also, members should arrive to the pool within the first 10 minutes of their reservation time for screening and check in.
Because of social distancing, there may be occasions when not all members in the facility will be able to be in the water at the same time. Again, we ask that members be considerate of others and be aware if there are people waiting to get in to the water.

Will there be opportunities for my child to exercise and use the pool beyond going with our family?
Yes! Plans are under development for youth swimming and diving programs throughout the summer. Details will be sent out as soon as they are finalized.
Will there be pool furniture on deck?
The pool will have some tables placed at least 10 feet apart for members to use and to help reinforce social distancing. To minimize shared surfaces and to streamline the cleaning procedures between groups, chairs will not be available. Pool members may bring their own chair to use, if wanted.
Is Sideburn Run still accepting members?
Yes! We are excited to welcome new bond members to Sideburn Run and are confident we have the time and room for anybody who wants to swim this summer to be able to do so. If you know of someone interested in joining, contact Membership@sideburnrun.com.
